Evidently Cochrane

Sign-up to the Evidently Cochrane blog to keep up-to-date with the latest Cochrane Systematic reviews in your area, or to keep abreast of the latest research. Evidently Cochrane makes Cochrane evidence more accessible. The blogs are written by Cochrane staff as well as guest bloggers. Items are posted on a regular basis with themed issues and special events added throughout the year. You can view content based on a number of categories and can sign-up to receive posts and digests via email in your inbox. There are also 3 special categories: Evidence for Everyday Allied Health, Evidence for Everyday Nursing and Evidence for Everyday Midwifery.

 As the temperatures climb it is getting hot in the Health Library. The hot weather doesn't have to disrupt your study or work session. Here are our top tips for library visitors to stay comfortable and focused during warm weather. Ebsco databases (Cinahl and Medline) will be changing for NHS users

 The NHS will be moving to a new version of the EBSCOhost interface used to search journal literature including the CINAHL database.  The transition is expected to take place on the 14 th July.  Action may be required if you have have saved searches and regular alerts set up. You can continue to access the databases from the Health Library website , using your NHS OpenAthens username. We will share opportunities to learn more about how to search on the new EBSCOhost shortly. Some FAQs have been created to support the change – please do look and take action to ensure you do not lose saved work. What is happening to EBSCOhost and what do I need to do as a user?  

Library FAQs for Keele Students

  You might be really familiar with using a library service, particularly if you have already spent some time on campus. However, here are a few questions we get asked which may be slightly different from what you are used to: Is there 24hr access to the Health Library? The Health Library at the CEC is available during staffed hours. You can find the opening hours on our website . Please take note that opening hours may be reduced during holiday periods. Do I need to use my Keele card to enter the library? Yes, you will need to swipe your card at the access point to enter the Health Library. We are currently operating under covid-secure conditions. This means that there is one point of entry – the side door by the entrance opposite the footbridge. Side-door to the Library, in the porch opposite the footbridge If you have forgotten your card use the intercom to contact a member of staff. You will be required to sign the visitor sheet. What can I use my Keele card for? ...
