Looking for key resources for F1s at UHNM

  Are you a foundation year doctor, starting work at UHNM (University Hospitals of North Midlands)? Make sure you get off to a good start by using key resources to support your clinical decisions and help you to practice evidence-based medicine. Key resources for foundation year doctors include: NHS OpenAthens – register for your NHS OpenAthens username. This gives you access to NHS-based online resources such as ebooks, journals and databases. Complete the online form to register – follow these instructions . Oxford Medicine Online – Follow best practice by using Oxford Medicine reference texts. You can access a wide range of handbooks for easy to read information across a range of specialties. BMJ Best Practice – a wealth of information to help you, including epidemiolgy, history and exam, treatement, patient discussions, complications, patient leaflets and so much more for conditions and diseases.   No time to visit the Health Library to collect books? That’s OK! We’ve got a great range of online titles.   We’ve just updated our eBooks web page, listing the collections that you can access and where you can find them:   NHS Knowledge and Library Hub – wide range of ebooks from the NHS core content purchased collections.   Library search – some ebook titles are available to NHS members via our library catalogue.    Oxford Medicine Online – key collection of essential handbooks from the NHS core content collection; also available via the Hub and Library Search.   Clinical Key ebooks – range of specialty texts for UHNM staff only.   Kortext NHS ebook collection – a wide spread of topics are covered by this NHS core content collection, including management, sustainability and wellbeing; also available via the Hub.   Medical Exam Revision collection – whilst most of these books are in print format, some are also available as ebooks; available via Library Search. World Breastfeeding Week 1st - 7th August 2022

  As promoted by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA); the 2022 campaign objectives for World Breastfeeding Week are: Inform - people about their role in strengthening the warm chain of support for breastfeeding Anchor - breastfeeding as part of good nutrition, food security and reduction of inequalities​ Engage - with individuals and organisations along the warm chain of support for breastfeeding​ Galvanise - action on strengthening capacity of actors and systems for transformational change   As in previous years, the target audiences for this annual event include governments, health systems, workplaces and communities in the hope that they will be informed, educated and empowered to strengthen their capacity to provide and sustain breastfeeding-friendly environments for families in the post pandemic world.
