 Merry Christmas to everyone. We wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas, and best wishes for the new year. If you are visiting us over the Christmas holidays please check our reduced opening hours before you travel. Remember that many resources are available 24/7 online .

Reminder: Christmas opening hours are reduced

  Here is a quick reminder that the Health Library will have reduced opening hours over the Christmas holidays: December 2023 Saturday 23rd to Tuesday 26th -  Closed  Wednesday 27th to Friday 29th - 9am to 4pm Saturday 30th to Sunday 31st -  Closed January 2024 Monday 1st -  Closed Online resources are available via  the Health Library website .

Look after yourself this winter

  Make sure you take care of yourself this winter. Here are a few ways the Health Library can help. Reading Well Collection Curl up with a book and immerse yourself in a story. We have a collection of mood-boosting fiction books to help you to unwind. There are also poetry collections to inspire and amuse you. Or try one of our self-help books to support your own mental health. Borrow these from our reading well collection. You can browse the collection in the library or take a look at the titles available via Library Search . Wellbeing Area You can also take a moment of mindfulness in our wellbeing area. There are jigsaws and colouring books to try or just take a little you-time in a comfy chair.

World AIDS Day - 1st December 2023

  World AIDS Day is celebrated every year on 1 st December to unite people across the world in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Medical advances in the UK mean that people with the HIV virus can now lead long and healthy lives, however, HIV continues to be highly stigmatised and misunderstood.  World AIDS Day aims to highlight the discrimination still experienced by many.   RELATED LIBRARY RESOURCES     The Health Libraries, both at the Royal Stoke and County Hospitals, offer numerous resources related to this topic.
