Disruption expected in the library this morning

We are expecting some noise and disruption in the library this morning as the installation of the new shelving gets underway. We will also be moving some of the book stock to the new shelving, which should be completed by the weekend. This will make part of our collection more visible and easily accessible. We apologise for any inconvenience these activities may cause.

The Scanner is back!

IT have installed a new scanner in the IT suite, so scanning facilities are back to normal. You will need to log on to the attached PC using your Keele computer username / password. NHS members can request a temporary login to allow them to use the scanner. Ask at the counter (you will need your library card).

Installation of New Shelving

On Wednesday morning, 26th February, some new shelving is being installed in the Health Library, and surplus units removed. There may be some noise and disruption during this time. We will be moving some of the book stock to the new shelving, which should be completed by the weekend. This will make part of our collection more visible and easily accessible. We apologise for any inconvenience these activities may cause.

Keep clicking the OpenAthens Login link until you can see your name

NHS Athens Alternative Login Route

If you are having problems using the NICE HDAS databases interface to complete your literature searches you can use some alternative links to access the native databases. Go to the Healthcare Resources page and page down until you get to the section ” Alternative Logins – when HDAS isn’t working ”. Click the section header to expand the section. You can now see links to the individual databases. Screen-shot of the Alternative database login links You will still need your NHS Athens username and password to login to the resources.

NHS Athens Changes and Errors

Athens / Eduserv / NICE have updated the NHS Athens self-registration form and the Athens administration interface that we use to manage your accounts. This has resulted in a few changes that may affect you. Web address changes – some of the URLS that you may have used previously may no longer be available. If you have bookmarked these you will need to change them. We are trying to keep all URLS on our Athens page up-to-date. If any resource URLS change we will maintain them on our Healthcare Resources page . Please check there if you are having any problems. Self-registration and re-registration – if you are registering for a new Athens username then you will notice that the form has changed substantially. Detailed instructions are included on the form. Validation of your email address has been enhanced and you need to search for your NHS organisation. If the data you have entered for these 2 items do not match then you will be warned although you can continue with the form. N
