Making access to our etutorials easier

We have rearranged the menus to our etutorials so that it is quicker and easier for you to find them. You can find our Getting Started etutorials by resource type now and we’ve streamlined our list of Information Skills etutorials . Our etutorials can help you to find and use our most popular resources as well as support the development of your information searching skills.

Off-Campus access to Keele University eResources

Here is a quick reminder of how to access the Keele University databases, ejournals and articles when you are off-campus. To access our ejournals for articles When you search the Keele A-Z list of journals for a journal title you will be given a link to the publisher’s site for the journal page. The publisher sites are all different but you need to login to be able to access the full-text. Look for a login link to the Shibboleth login or Institutional login, then select Keele University. You will be presented with a login screen where you can enter your Keele computer username and password. Here is an example of how to login to a journal. To access our databases to search for articles Use the links to the databases on your subject page: medicine , midwifery or nursing . These links take you directly to the correct login screen. Library notices problem resolved

Over the weekend we had a problem whereby some of the library reminder emails were not sent out. These are messages about reservations awaiting collection, overdue loans, etc. The technical issue which caused this has now been resolved, but please be aware that you may not have received reminder which you would normally have been sent. Please remember that this information is available at any time by clicking on 'My Library' in the  library catalogue .

Library notices problem

We're having a problem with the library email notices at the moment. These are the automatic emails which let you know about overdue loans, holds, etc. These haven't been going out since midday on Friday (10th January). IT Services are working on the problem and hope to have it resolved soon. In the meantime if you wish to check the status of your library loans please log into your account via the library Catalogue by clicking on the ‘My Library’ button in the top left corner of the screen, or via Catalogue Plus by clicking on ‘Login/Renewals’ in the top right hand corner of the screen.
