Keele Walk-in Access for NHS Library Members

NHS staff who join the Health Library are eligible to request a temporary login to the Keele University network. This will allow you to access Keele networked resources, including Keele subscribed journals and databases, via the IT suite. You will also be able to access the Keele WIFI available in the Clinical Education Centre and some parts of the Royal Stoke Hospital. Bring your library card to the Health Library counter and sign for a temporary login.

Maintenance of Eduroam WiFi at Royal Stoke University Hospital

At 07:30 on Thursday 26th April there will be some maintenance on the Eduroam WiFi at RSUH which will result in a 10 minute outage.  Once the maintenance has been completed you may need to re-connect to Eduroam again on your devices to access the service.   If you have any problems connecting to Eduroam on Thursday or have any questions please contact a member of the ICT Services Team who will be happy to assist.

Keele Wifi at Royal Stoke

You can now access the Keele Wifi service (Eduroam) across many of the main buildings at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. This includes all floors of the main Lyme, Trent and Maternity buildings as well as the Courtyard Annexe and HCSA. You may not find a Keele connection absolutely everywhere across the site and please be mindful that you won’t have the same bandwidth available in the main hospital areas as within Keele-based buildings (for obvious clinical considerations). However hopefully this will represent an improved service to Keele students and staff. Useful access that you might like to consider: Keele App – to access your library account BNF / BNFc App – for up-to-date drug reference (use your NHS Athens username) Dynamed – evidence-based point-of-care resources (use your NHS Athens username) Twitter App – keep up-to-date with news at the Health library by following our @CEClibrary twitter feed NHS staff wanting to use the hospital wifi sh...

Network problems

Due to a serious cabling problem, there are currently no network services to the Health Library. This means that there is no wi-fi, no printing, no photocopying, and the student PCs aren't working. The Library is currently working off-line, so limited issue and return facilities are available via the Library counter only. The catalogue remains available externally and renewals may be done online. We are awaiting word on when the problem will be fixed. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Wifi now available at the Health Library

Keele university wifi is now available to at the Health Library. This is delivered in association with UHNS IT. Please contact the CEC IT department for more help. The team is based in room SF03 on the second floor of the Clinical Education Centre. You can contact Dan Bednarski on 01782 679547 or email him: d.bednarski@keele.ac.uk Or Neil Herbert on 01782 679548 or email him: n.a.herbert@keele.ac.uk There will be a drop-in session Friday 27th Sept in the Health Library Silent Study room, 12-2pm for anyone who needs any help. All students will have been sent further details via email – please check your university email for more information. NHS Users can use the Keele wifi network within the Keele buildings at the UHNS. You will need to sign for a temporary Keele network login and then set up the connection as a...

Wifi Access at the Health Library

We have received a number of comments from students regarding the lack of wifi access at the Health Library. Our IT department are working on this issue and have released the following statement: "Keele University Faculty of Health is very aware of the lack of Wi-fi at UHNS for our students and the potential inconvenience that might engender. We have been working very closely with our partners within the Trust to try and find a way that would allow relatively unrestricted Keele Wi-fi traffic to travel across what is, essentially, a NHS network at UHNS. As can be imagined this is a complex undertaking and not something that can be achieved without undergoing very significant due process. Please be assured that a workable solution is being considered and we would hope to see a test scenario within the next 12 months. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding."
