Don't lose your library membership

 NHS library cards for the Health Library all have an expiry date set. NHS staff will be contacted before your card expires asking you whether you wish to renew and continue your membership.  Please make sure that you respond to ensure that your membership continues. You'll be asked to check the details we have are correct - please let us know of any changes to ensure that you are still eligible for membership. If you have any queries about your membership you can email the library at health.library@keele.ac.uk - make sure you include your library card number if possible.

NHS Journal Changes for 2021

  We have renewed our subscriptions to our NHS ejournals. However there have been a couple of changes to the location of access: Blood  The journal Blood is available to NHS staff via your NHS OpenAthens username. Our subscription for this title has changed this year. You can now access full-text via the Science Direct platform. Journal of Clinical Oncology The Journal of Clinical Oncology is available to NHS staff via your NHS OpenAthens username. Our subscription for this title has changed this year. You can now access full-text via the Ovid platform. Access NHS eJournals All journal titles are accessible from our   NHS Journals A-Z list . With an increased aging population and individuals of all ages with more complex needs that require additional social care support, there is an increasing requirement to recruit and retain staff in the adult social care sector. Have you seen our library books? - Book Amnesty

              Wanted!!!              Have you seen our library books? Your Health Library teams are holding a book amnesty until the end of February, and are therefore asking if everyone could return any unused library books; which may have been forgotten about.   • Have items been locked in or left lying around in offices, staff rooms, store rooms and drawers within your department?   • Maybe you have a shelf at home that’s looking a little too full?   Fines will be waived on returned   items (subject to circumstance).   Returning items—please bag them together, write on the bag or include a note saying ‘Amnesty’ and return them via: • Health Library (Royal Stoke) : returned items box, inside the Clinical Education Centre porch opposite the footbridge. • Health Library at County : returned items box, inside the chapel door in the Postgraduate Medical Centre.   For more information— please speak to Frances Griffiths or Paige Simcoe - 01782 679500.

Covid-19 Evidence Bulletins

 You can get all the latest research on coronavirus / covid-19 by checking our Covid-19 Evidence Bulletin. You'll find articles, reviews and guidelines relating to infection control, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment. The bulletins are produced on a regular basis by Mathew, our Clinical Effectiveness Librarian. The latest issues are available on our website . Clinical Effectiveness Bulletins

 The Outreach team at the Health Library produce a regular Clinical Effectiveness Bulletin. This bulletin provides the latest news, articles, guidelines and research relating to clinical effectiveness. Items are drawn from a wide range of resources and relate mainly to primary care. Health Library still open, for individual study only.

Currently the Health Library remains open with its advertised opening times.  However please note the library is for individual study only.  Groups, including work or social bubbles, are not be permitted and will be asked to separate. 2 meter social distancing must be maintained at all times. Most study tables are for single occupancy only. Surgical facemasks masks must be worn at all times in library areas and rooms, as well as in the CEC generally.
