Must have resources to search for guidelines and procedures

Guidelines and procedures offer NHS staff evidence-based recommendations for patient care and work practices.

You can look for the latest evidence by searching the following resources.

NHS Knowledge & Library Hub

Search the Hub to search across hundreds of different NHS-based resources for guidelines and recommendations. Use the filters on the left-hand-side to focus your search results.

The Hub is available in a separate instance for each of our supported NHS organisations. Check the NHS resources page for your version:

NHS Resources for UHNM ; NHS Resources for North Staffs Combined Healthcare ; NHS Resources for GPs and the ICB.

NICE Guidelines

You can find a wealth of guidance on the NICE guidance website. This includes independently developed evidence-based recommendations. Browse the guidance by condition or disease or search across the website for the information you need.

Royal Marsden Manual Online

NHS nurses can access up-to-date, evidence-based procedures to support their work from the RoyalMarsden Manual Online. This key text provides easy access to procedures, illustrations and practical advice for all nursing roles. This resource is available to all NHS staff via NHS OpenAthens login.

Access resources

The resources we recommend may be freely available online, require a personal login or need an NHS OpenAthens username for full-text access. You will find links to all our resources on our NHS resources web page.
