New Students – have you found the Health Library yet?

The Health Library can really help students with your studies. You can: Borrow books Access online resources such as articles, journals and ebooks Use the facilities at the library such as printing, photocopying and scanning Log on to the computers in the IT Suite Use the study areas for silent, individual or group study Complete our short online etutorials to get started with our resources Attend training sessions arranged by your tutors to help you to develop your information skills and use our resources effectively Please check out our web page for new students for more information.

Disruption at the Health Library

There will be considerable disruption to Library Counter services from Monday 24th Oct - Wednesday 26th Oct, due to removal and installation of a new reception area. Please use the Self-Service facility for loans and returns of books. Staff will be on hand to help with any other queries and issues you may have. Apologies for any noise and disruption during this time.

Replacement of NHS Library Cards

All Health Library cards with bar code number beginning 508 need to be replaced. Keele University have updated a number of systems and you will need to replace your library card in order to continue using them. These include: Door access at weekends and in the evenings – the swipe access system on the side-entrance has been updated and you will need a new library card to be able to use it Photocopies and Keele printers – you will need a new card to use the photocopiers and Keele printers and pay for services Next time you visit the library please pop along to the counter to request a library card replacement.

Medicine Reference Resources from Medicines Complete

Get medicine reference ebooks via Medicines Complete. All our users – Keele students and NHS staff- can access Medicines Complete. Keele users – log in via shibboleth using your Keele computer login details NHS staff – log in via openathens, using your NHS Athens username / password All users will be able to access the BNF and BNFc. We have purchased extra resources for Keele users as well as NHS staff at UHNM and North Staffs Combined Healthcare such as: AHFS Drug Information Handbook on Injectable Drugs Kucer’s the Use of Antibiotics Stockley’s Drug Interactions And more… The books available to you will depend on the subscription of your organisation.
