NICE HDAS and NHS A-Z Journals Problems

We have recently had an update to the software that produces the links for our journals and articles presented within NICE HDAS and NHS A-Z Journals. Unfortunately there appear to be a number of problems associated with the implementation that you should be aware of: 1. Some full-text links are repeating - so you may get 2-5 links that are all the same, this is occurring with a number of providers, although it is not consistent. This has been reported. 2. The links for print content from the Health Library print journals don’t seem to be coming through on HDAS, although the journal title are on the A-Z. So you may need to check the A-Z for print content. This has been reported. 3. Links from Ebsco Medline with full-text are working intermittently and I don't think the content is correct ie we seem to be getting links for journal titles which are not included as full-text within medline. This has been reported. Do let me know if you come across anything looking funny...

Proquest maintenance Aug 8th

Please note the following information we have received: From  Saturday Aug 8, 2015 at 10:00 PM Eastern Time  through  Sunday Aug 9, 2015 at 6:00 AM Eastern time , ProQuest will be upgrading its systems infrastructure in the Virginia data center ("DC4"). During the maintenance window, customer access will be redirected to a webpage stating the planned maintenance times. Access may be available sooner than the published end time depending on completion of testing. This maintenance will not impact the ProQuest Support Center or Support Center Portal. This may impact on access to the medline and psychinfo databases within NHS HDAS, which are provided by Proquest. Apologies for any inconvenience.

NHS HDAS Databases Switch- help using databases

The anticipated switch from Ovid to Proquest for Medline and PsychInfo has now occurred. Using HDAS to search Medline and PsychInfo will now refer searches via Proquest and includes some limitations. See document “HDAS Database Changes – Fields available” on our Journal Problems & Fixes page . To avoid these limitations you may wish to prefer to search via the Proquest interface. You can find a direct link to the Proquest database in our section “ Direct Database Login ”. You can find help using the Proquest databases here: Proquest training resources You can also access Medline via Ebsco. This may be a more familiar interface for some of you who have used Ebsco databases before. You will also find direct links in our section “ Direct Database Login ”.
