Medical Masterclass

This online exam support resource will help you to prepare for all three parts of the MRCP(UK) examination. This is only available to UHNM staff and requires an individual username / password. Please contact the Health Library at County to get your login details, email library@uhnm.nhs.uk.

New! NEJM Knowledge Plus

Any post-graduate doctors in training at UHNM can request access to the new exam tool NEJM Knowledge Plus. Here you can access question banks and assessment tools to help you to prepare for your exams. Please request an individual username from Health Library at County at library@uhnm.nhs.uk.

The resources we recommend may be freely available online, require a personal login or need an NHS OpenAthens username for full-text access. You will find links to all our resources on our NHS resources web page.

 As the temperatures climb it is getting hot in the Health Library. The hot weather doesn't have to disrupt your study or work session. Here are our top tips for library visitors to stay comfortable and focused during warm weather. Ebsco databases (Cinahl and Medline) will be changing for NHS users

 The NHS will be moving to a new version of the EBSCOhost interface used to search journal literature including the CINAHL database.  The transition is expected to take place on the 14 th July.  Action may be required if you have have saved searches and regular alerts set up. You can continue to access the databases from the Health Library website , using your NHS OpenAthens username. We will share opportunities to learn more about how to search on the new EBSCOhost shortly. Some FAQs have been created to support the change – please do look and take action to ensure you do not lose saved work. What is happening to EBSCOhost and what do I need to do as a user?  

Library FAQs for Keele Students

  You might be really familiar with using a library service, particularly if you have already spent some time on campus. However, here are a few questions we get asked which may be slightly different from what you are used to: Is there 24hr access to the Health Library? The Health Library at the CEC is available during staffed hours. You can find the opening hours on our website . Please take note that opening hours may be reduced during holiday periods. Do I need to use my Keele card to enter the library? Yes, you will need to swipe your card at the access point to enter the Health Library. We are currently operating under covid-secure conditions. This means that there is one point of entry – the side door by the entrance opposite the footbridge.
