Skin Cancer Awareness Month - May 2021

The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) currently runs a national campaign around skin cancer called Sun Awareness, which includes national Sun Awareness Week in May   which this year falls between the 3 rd and 9 th May 2021. In recognition of Skin Cancer Awareness Month the Cancer Research UK Oxford Centre will be posting a series of blog posts highlighting the contribution of Oxford researchers to global efforts to tackle Melanoma. Melanoma is the 5th most common cancer in the UK, and although it is more common in older people, it is relatively common in younger people. Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that can spread to other organs in the body and the most common sign of melanoma is the appearance of a new mole or a change in an existing mole. For more information surrounding Skin Cancer please visit the NHS Choices, British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) or Cancer Research UK websites: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/melanoma-skin-cancer/ https://www.bad.o

Evidence and literature searches – what do you need from your library service?

Have you requested a literature or evidence search from the library in the past year? Can you help HEE to research the needs of people who request searches? HEE Library and Knowledge Service are conducting a survey - can you help? Health Education England (HEE) and Lagom Strategy are conducting research to understand and cater for the needs of people who request literature and evidence search services from their Health Library service. By speaking to a range of users from across the NHS, we have identified a number of user needs. We now want to validate these findings by learning whether you share these needs and, if so, how important they are to you. All you need to do is complete this 10 minute survey to tell us what you think:   https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/litandevidencesearchuserneeds   The survey will close at midday on Friday 28 May.   If you have any questions or want more information about this work, please contact lucy.reid@hee.nhs.uk.
