The National Core Content has just secured perpetual access to the archives of JAMA for NHS Athens account holders. Access has now been extended from 1883 to present day. Full text articles can be accessed through the journals A-Z , direct from JAMA homepage or from the advanced database search .

2008 will see a great number of changes to the NHS electronic resources. The first of the changes to be introduced is the national purchase of the American Medical Association journals . This will provide Athens authenticated access to journals such as JAMA, Archives of Neurology and Archives of Ophthlmology. Unlike Proquest titles, there will be no embargo to accessing the articles and provides stable full text access to past issues.
