IT disruption 19th & 20th December 2019

KCOM (for UHNM IT) are undertaking maintenance on the network in the CEC on 19th and 20th Dec between 8 am and 12 noon. At some point for a couple of minutes: each PC [staff and customer, NHS & Keele] will lose network connection each phone, including ongoing calls, will cut out and reboot self-service unit will be affected Health Library till will be affected We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Keele IT maintenance may cause disruption Saturday 20th July 2019

From Keele IT : Due to essential IT maintenance taking place this Saturday (20 July), all IT systems are subject to potential disruption throughout the day.  Work is being carried out to upgrade operating systems and servers all day on Saturday, and unfortunately IT Services cannot guarantee that University systems hosted by these servers will be available.  This work could affect all systems used across the University, including (but not limited to) the finance system, Keele People, SCIMS, Blackboard, Gmail, and TopDesk.  Maintenance on Blackboard will begin on Friday, so disruption is likely to begin from 10pm on Friday. Maintenance on other systems will begin around 6am on Saturday. The work is being completed on a Saturday in order to cause minimal disruption to our staff and students.  IT Services does however apologise if you are affected by systems being unavailable due to this maintenance.  All systems should be back up and running from Sunday morning.

Essential OpenAthens maintenance: Saturday 14 April 2018

On Saturday 14 April 2018 Athens/ Eduserv will be carrying out essential maintenance affecting all administrative functions and some end-user/patron services. More details around exact timing will be added to the  status page  in due course.  OpenAthens administration and user functions: The administration area will be unavailable for up to three hours. OpenAthens users will be unable to: register for a new account; reset their password; change their email address; activate their account. The sign-on service should not be affected but considered ‘at-risk’ for the duration of the maintenance period. Access to the administration area will be re-enabled at the earliest opportunity but account list / search features will be unavailable for up to a further six hours. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Ovid maintenance

Ovid will be carrying out maintenance of their services over the next few days: Thursday 24th August Saturday 26th August Monday 28th August This may impact on access to our Ovid resources for short periods, in particular: Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) database eJournals hosted by Ovid Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

IT Suite closed for maintenance

The IT suite next to the library will be closed for maintenance from Monday 14th August. Hopefully it will be available again before Friday 18th August. This is so that painting can be completed. The IT training room will be made available where possible to allow staff and students to access computers on the Keele network. Note, however: there will be NO access to the NHS network there will be NO self-service printing, please add your documents to a memory stick and then bring this to the counter where staff can print out for you Note that Keele students can use the IT facilities available at Campus. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Saturday maintenance work 15 July 2017 (Keele University)

We have been made aware of the following Keele IT maintenance that may affect computer access: "This note concerns the second set of tests to be conducted on Saturday July 15th. Some disruption will be experienced between 07:00 and the early evening. Saturday maintenance work 10th June 2017 (Keele University)

We have been made aware of the following Keele IT maintenance that may affect computer access: " Saturday is a data centre maintenance day. During the day one of our data centre will have its electrical systems inspected and we will be testing our disaster recovery procedures. The KLE and SCIMS are expected to continue working but you may experience occasional slow responses as your web browser is redirected to the resilient services. Student and staff access to PCs, S: and network drives may be affected as half of the filestore systems will be unavailable during the testing."

Scheduled downtime for e-Learning for Healthcare

We have received news that e-Learning for Healthcare will be unavailable Thursday 18th May between 8 am and 12 noon as follows: ________________________________________ We have (...) planned some system downtime to increase the capacity of our servers.  The downtime is scheduled for Thursday 18 May 2017 between 8am and 12noon. Disruption to Keele IT Services Saturday 16th July 2016

The following statement has been issued by Keele IT: ***** Once a year IT Services test our ability to recover from a major disaster by switching off the data centres and checking that the systems can be recovered. Our Disaster Recovery event will be taking place from 08:00 until approximately 18:30 on Saturday 16th July 2016. What does this mean for staff and students? On Saturday 16th July, access to IT systems, whether on or off campus will be affected. Access to SCIMS, KLE, eVision will be affected for part or all of the day. If you are on campus then telephones, wifi and network connections in offices, IT Suite or Labs will be affected for part or all of the day. If you access services from RSUH campus including the internet, library system and Eduroam then there will be disruption to these services between 8.00 am and 2.00 pm on Saturday. Message from HDAS: We will be conducting essential service maintenance on Tuesday 28th June 2016 during the evening.
