Oxford Handbooks Online for UHNM

Oxford handbooks are back online for UHNM staff. You can find the list of subscribed titles on our ebooks page . Each link will take you directly to the ebook page, via the Athens sign-on.

NHS eJournals – updates pending

There have been a number of journal titles cancelled this year for our NHS users. Due to some problems we have encountered with the new Ovid software used to produce the NHS journals A-Z list and the article links in HDAS, the application of the changes may take some time. Apologies for the delay. If you encounter any problems getting in access to articles, please contact staff at the Health Library.

Clinical Key available for 2018

Our subscription to Clinical Key has been renewed for 2018. It is available to staff at UHNM, via their Athens username. Clinical Key is a clinical-specialist search engine with access to 1000s of online resources, such as ejournals, ebooks, guidelines, videos and patient education. Use the search engine to complete simple searches and find the latest evidence. Love Your Liver - January 2018

The British Liver Trust first launched the “ Love your Liver ” campaign back in 2012 as a way to raise awareness, promote good liver health and offer practical advice to the public on reducing risk factors. The campaign includes community-based Love Your Liver screening and scanning events, supported by liver doctors and nurses from local hospitals, an online liver health screening tool and media work to highlight the issues. Want to find information quickly? Need to brush up on your literature searching skills? Why not book yourself onto one of our training courses ? Health Library training courses are presented by qualified librarians, usually to small groups and offer you plenty of time for hands-on practice. Our courses include opportunities to: Get help finding the right information via the Internet Learn how to conduct a literature search and use our databases to get information quickly Find high-level good quality systematic reviews and evidence summaries using the Cochrane Library and similar resources Start to develop your critical appraisal skills Get to grips with Refworks Book yourself on a session by getting in touch with our Training Team or book online .

The Health Library subscribes to BMJ Case Reports for UHNM staff. Here you will find: Peer-reviewed articles Unusual clinical cases Common and rare conditions Available in full-text to UHNM NHS Athens users You can share your own cases by submitting your own case report. It is a great opportunity to get published, with high acceptance rates. For more information see our BMJ Case Reports guide page – ask me for the fellowship code.
