We have received the following notification regarding expected maintenance to Wiley Online and the Cochrane Library: Event Title: Wiley Online Library Release & The Cochrane Library Scheduled Maintenance Downtime December 2013 Date : Saturday 7th December 2013 Time:  10:00 am UK Duration: 5 hours (approximate). How it will effect users: The Cochrane Home page will be available but reviews and search functionality will be unavailable. Is there a workaround: There will be no workaround When can users expect will it be backup: The expectation is for the systems to be back up at approximately 15:00 (UK) Saturday 7th December. (Subject to testing) Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

The way to log on to Wiley ejournals has changed for our NHS users.   Remember to start looking for a journal title using the NHS journal list . You will find all our NHS-subscribed journals here, including the holdings we have and any special instructions about the journal. Here the link will take you to the article in question but you may need to log in to Wiley to get to the full-text. Wiley Online have again changed the way that NHS Athens users access their ejournals. Start by logging in and searching for your ejournal title via the NHS My Journals A-Z list . Click on the Wiley Online link listed in the search results list. This should take you to the ejournal page on Wiley. However it most likely will not have logged you in (even though you have just logged in). Click the “ Institutional login ” link near the top right-hand-corner. You then need to select your organisation – I don’t believe that these have been set up correctly for us; however NHS users should enter “ city general hospital ” into the institution box. This should find an entry for “ City General Hospital Health Library (Athens) ”, select this. Select this even if you do not work for UHNS / City General Hospital. Then click the login button. You may be prompted for your NHS Athens username and password or you may be automatically logged through. You will then be dumped on the Wiley ...

Wiley have reported that the problem with authentication via Athens has now been resolved. Users should have no problem accessing our Wiley resources via the links from Athens.

Wiley report that there is an ongoing problem with access to the Wiley Online Library via Athens. Users are advised to logon by going directly to the Wiley site and clicking the Athens login link. This will affect users accessing journals published by Wiley.

The Cochrane Library and Wiley published journals will be unavailable from 10:00 to 12:00 on 30th October due to maintenance.
