Can’t access the full-text? Do you need to request an Inter-Library Loan?

If you can’t access the full-text of an article then you may need to apply for an Inter-Library Loan. We will try to get you a copy of the article from another library. But… first things first – have you checked our available collections ? Check Library Search for the print version of the journal and article – is it already sitting on our shelves? NHS staff should check the NHS A-Z Journals List. You’ll need to log on with your Athens username. You can then check for the journal title of the article to see if it is included in our online subscription. Check Library Search to see if the article is available via Keele resources. Keele users will be able to access Keele resources either via the Keele network or by logging on with their Keele username / password. NHS library members can access Keele networked resources by requesting a temporary Keele login for walk-in access. If you still can’t find the full-text, then double-check on Google Scholar to see if a full-text

Use Library Search to search our Book collection

Library Search allows you to search our book collection. Use the simple search box to enter your search terms and select from the filter options on the left-hand-side to focus your search results. Screen-shot of an example search on Library Search You will be able to find books from Keele University Campus Library, LERC at County (Stafford) as well as the Health Library. You can request an item from any library be sent to the Health Library for you to pick up. Books are automatically renewed for most member groups, although you may receive requests to return items. Please check your email account for any requests from the library. If the title you need is already on loan by someone else then you can submit a request so that it is saved for you. You can log in to your account to check the items you have on loan, make any renewals or submit any requests.

Keele Walk-in Access for NHS Library Members

NHS staff who join the Health Library are eligible to request a temporary login to the Keele University network. This will allow you to access Keele networked resources, including Keele subscribed journals and databases, via the IT suite. You will also be able to access the Keele WIFI available in the Clinical Education Centre and some parts of the Royal Stoke Hospital. Bring your library card to the Health Library counter and sign for a temporary login.

ADHD Awareness Month - October 2018

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a very common disorder which affects children and adults. It has for many years been recognised as a childhood issue that affects focus, self-control and many other important skills. However, it has only recently been recognised as an adult problem too. The cause is an imbalance in the brains anatomy and its wiring. Although awareness surrounding adult ADHD has grown in recent years, there is still a long way to go in regards to raising awareness, which is why the Attention Deficit Disorder Association is using 2018’s campaign to not only teach the wider population about ADHD but also offer useful guidance to ADHD sufferers so that they can help themselves. No Time to Search? Ask for a Literature Search

If you don’t have time to complete your own search you can request a literature search to be completed on your behalf. This service is available to our NHS members as well as Keele University academic staff. You can send your information request to our librarian team. They will determine a search strategy, carry it out against appropriate selected resources and provide you with a list of articles that match the criteria. Where possible you will be provided with a link to the full-text. You can make a request in person by completing a form at the Health Library counter or online via our website .
