  Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is one of the most common disorders of the digestive system.  It is often stigmatized and misunderstood but the symptoms have a significant impact on the quality of life for many people.  IBS Awareness Month falls in April each year with the aim of raising awareness of the condition and encouraging frank and open conversations about toilet habits.   RELATED LIBRARY RESOURCES     The Health Libraries, both at the Royal Stoke and County Hospitals, offer numerous resources related to this topic.  The Oxford Medicine Online ebook collection, subscribed to by NHS England, has been extended to include the Specialist Handbook series. This collection is available to all NHS staff via your NHS OpenAthens username. Link to the collection via our eBooks page .  AMED is the  Allied and complementary medicine database, providing abstracts covering subjects within allied health therapies as well as some nursing topics. This has previously been provided to NHS staff via the Ovid platform. Access to this database has now moved to the Proquest Dialog platform; note that this is different from the Proquest platform that we currently use for other databases. AMED is provided by NHS England as part of the NHS core content collection. Proquest provide additional help to using their resources on this website . All relevant links have been updated in the NHS Resources page on the Health Library website . You will need your NHS openAthens login to access this database.
