Library Account Password Security Changes

This information affects NHS, SCONUL and Alumni members. If you have a library card, you will have set up a password for an online library account, which you access through the library catalogue Library Search . This is used to login to your account to view your book loans, renew items and place requests on items.  The system which manages the login details is changing to increase security. Please be aware if you have a password that is fewer than 8 characters you will find that from January 2020 that you will not be able to log in to Library Search. To avoid this - in advance please reset your Library Search password to meet the security criteria. If you have not reset your password before January 2020, you will need to contact the library to request a temporary password reset so that you can access you account and set your own password. Reduced Opening Hours over the Christmas holidays

There will be reduced opening hours at the Health Library over the Christmas period. Monday 23rd to Tuesday 24th Dec - 9:00am to 4:30pm Wednesday 25th Dec - Closed Thursday 26th Dec - Closed Friday 27th Dec - 9:00am to 4:30pm Saturday 28th to Sunday 29th Dec - Closed Monday 30th to Tuesday 31st Dec - 9:00am - 4:30pm Wednesday 1st Jan 2020 - Closed Please check before you visit.

Students on Electives or placement (Medicine, Nursing or Midwifery) - no change to library loan rules.

If you are embarking on an elective or placement during November / December / January: You are welcome to continue to loan items from the library, but please be aware that normal loan periods will still apply. Items may be requested by another user and recalled. Late return of requested items will still incur fines. Automatic renewals will run as normal, but if you wish to try to avoid having an item potentially due for return at a time when you really cannot come in, you can attempt to renew your books early via your account on Library Search.

Alcohol Awareness Week - 11-17 November 2019

Alcohol awareness week is coordinated by the Alcohol Change UK. Over 1,700 public health teams, workplaces, GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals, charities and other community groups across the country took part in and organised events for the 2018 campaign. This year's theme is “Alcohol and me” and is hoped to offer a chance for the UK to get thinking about drinking - it’s a week of raising awareness and campaigning for change.
