Health Literacy Conference at Keele University Friday 20th June 2014

From our colleague at the Stoke Public Health Improvement Service : Book now for this 1-day conference in Health Literacy on 20th June 2014 at Keele Hall, Staffordshire. Places are rapidly filling up so early booking is recommended. Health literacy is a national priority in public health and health inequalities - and of key interest to clinicians, researchers and the general public alike. We have plenary sessions from national and international health literacy experts, including Professor Michael Wolf (Northwestern University, Chicago) Dr Kristine Sorensen (Maastricht University) Prof Gill Rowlands (Kings College, London) who will present their view on the current evidence, impact and future implications of Health Literacy Research on Healthy Living, from their respective international perspectives of the US, Europe and the UK. 50 Resources for Healthcare: 35. West Midlands Public Health Observatory

The West Midlands Public Health Observatory (WMPHO) can provide you with lots of information and data about public health issues. You can find links to reports, charts and data for a wide range of topics from alcohol issues, to climate change and health, long term mortality trends, older people’s health issues and social care with many more in-between. You can also view local profiles across a range of measurements, where the data can be broken down by NHS trust or geographical area. Please note that during 2013 the public health observatories will be incorporated into Public Health England's Knowledge and Intelligence Team (West Midlands).

New Health Profiles 2011

The Public Health Observatories have released the new Health Profiles for 2011 . These give an overview of health for each local authority in England. Outreach Service Annual Review
