NHS staff can access the TRIP database Premium

NHS organisations in England now have trial access to the premium version of the TRIP (turning research into practice) database for one year. It is only available on the NHS network via IP address access. The TRIP database allows you to search for high quality clinical research evidence. The premium edition will give you access to: Over 100,000 extra systematic reviews than the free version Millions of extra free full-text articles Easily search over 175,000 ongoing clinical trials Access to a massive database of medical images Access to tens of thousands of clinical videos Access TRIP database (no login required but you must be on an NHS networked computer) Read more about TRIP

Support for Clinical Practice using Dynamed

The Centre for Evidence Based Medicine offers a range of courses and tutorials to help clinicians to develop the skills to practice evidence-based medicine. It also makes available a range of tools, presentations and publications to support practitioners and the teaching of EBM. The TRIP database is a search tool that will help you to find good quality research evidence. It can help you to find synopses, systematic reviews, guidelines and key primary research as it searches across a wide range of healthcare specific resources; You can also find information such as images, videos, patient information and more. The search engine is freely available on the Internet. Type your keywords in to the search box for a simple search or use the advanced search options for more complicated searching. Dynamed available for UHNS

Dynamed is now available to UHNS Athens users. DynaMed provides clinically-organized summaries for nearly 3,000 disease and condition topics, incorporating over 800 drug topics.  DynaMed editors monitor the content of over 500 medical journals, using a 7-step methodology for selecting and critically appraising each selected article. DynaMed is updated daily and is available via mobile devices. You can access Dynamed from our Health Information Resources page. Help is available to get you started.

Trip Database Updates

Trip database

The Trip Database is a high quality database which supports clinicians in evidence based research. New features have recently been added as part of the latest upgrade including an e-portfolio to assist reflective learning, links to BMJ's doc2doc forum , better linking to medical images and faster searching. Swine flu

Due to the recent global outbreak of Swine Influenza, EBSCO Publishing and the DynaMed Editors have made DynaMed’s information about Swine Influenza free to health care providers and institutions throughout the world. The DynaMed topic on Swine Influenza consolidates information from multiple sources for health care providers to stay current with recommendations for monitoring, diagnosing, and treating patients with flu-like illnesses during this outbreak. DynaMed Editors will continue to monitor information and update this topic as needed throughout this global crisis. Additional DynaMed clinical evidence summaries can be accessed through the DynaMed link under the Clinical Knowledge Summaries . DynaMed is normally a subscribed resource (American bias), which has been made freely available in the UK only when linking through the Clinical Knowledge Summaries.
