NHS staff in the community can sign up for bulletins. Recent journal articles and reports, news, updated guidelines, and systematic reviews are included in the bulletins we produce. They are designed to give you a concise overview of some of the newly available literature in a range of practice areas. Clinical Effectiveness Bulletin (Monthly) Produced for staff working in the primary care in North Staffordshire. This aims to draw attention to key documents, guidance and evidence-based reviews on clinical effectiveness. Document supply: supporting you to make #amilliondecisions

How can we help support you to make decisions? To base your decisions on the available evidence, invariably some sort of search for the current evidence or literature is needed. You get your list of results and what happens – there may be some items that you are unable to access in full text from the NHS electronic resources. Our document supply service can help you get access to this crucial information: Inter-library loans If it is an item that the library does not hold at all in electronic or print format, we can search for the item in other libraries which we have an inter-lending arrangement with. We can then request a copy to be sent to us and forward it on to you or make available for collection from the library. To request an article or book via inter-library loan the request forms can easily be found on the Health library website in the  Find a Form section . There is a charge per item for this service. We can help - CASE STUDY FROM NORTH STAFFS COMBINED HEALTHCARE

The Health Library can help you in many different ways. Here is an example from our NHS Outreach Service. Research: One of our Outreach Librarians, Clare,  carried out literature a search on the topic of group psychological interventions alongside clients with long term physical health conditions. North Staffs Combined Healthcare has patients with a variety of conditions including medically unexplained symptoms, epilepsy, and chronic pain. A systematic search was carried out across all relevant databases and a report document was prepared which included all references, listed any systematic reviews separately, and provided links to full text using NHS Athens. Purpose:  To provide information for an evidence base of knowledge which may be used to improve service delivery and patient care in the future. The Health Library can help you in many different ways. Here is an example from our NHS Outreach Service. Activity: Research was carried out to find information on transgender specific services for children and young people, in terms of the prevalence of transgender issues and referrals to mental health services, as well as guidance and pathways from existing services in other organisations. A systematic literature search using a wide variety of search terms was carried out on PsychInfo, further searching over six other databases and an advanced internet search. The results were collated into two reports covering prevalence and “service issues” which contained full text access to the relevant documents wherever possible.
