Which databases?

Our users can access a range of databases from different platforms (Ebsco, Ovid, Proquest).

  • Keele staff and students have access to Maternity and Infant Care from Ovid
  • NHS staff can access AMED, Embase, Emcare, HMIC, Medline and Social Policy and Practice from Ovid

Who can access them?

Ovid databases are purchased for you. They are not freely available on the Internet. You will need a login to access them:

  • Keele staff and students – access your resources immediately on campus via the Keele network. Off-campus you will need to log in using your Keele login details. Find more information on the campus online resources help page
  • NHS staff can log in using your NHS OpenAthens username / password. You can find step-by-step instructions on our blog post Log on to the Ovid platform for NHS databases. Register online for your NHS OpenAthens username.
