Which databases?

Our users can access a range of databases from different platforms (Ebsco, Ovid, Proquest).

  • Keele staff and students have access to AMED, Cinahl, Medline and PsychInfo from Ebsco
  • NHS staff can access Cinahl and Medline from Ebsco

Who can access them?

Ebsco databases are purchased for you. They are not freely available on the Internet. You will need a login to access them:

  • Keele staff and students – access your resources immediately on campus via the Keele network. Off-campus you will need to log in using your Keele login details. Find more information on the campus online resources help page
  • NHS staff can log in using your NHS OpenAthens username / password. You can find step-by-step instructions on our blog post Log on to the Ebsco platform for NHS databases. Register online for your NHS OpenAthens username.

JAMA online

2008 will see a great number of changes to the NHS electronic resources. The first of the changes to be introduced is the national purchase of the American Medical Association journals . This will provide Athens authenticated access to journals such as JAMA, Archives of Neurology and Archives of Ophthlmology. Unlike Proquest titles, there will be no embargo to accessing the articles and provides stable full text access to past issues. Please contact the Library for further details regarding NHS Athens or electronic journal access.
