We’ve added even more resources to the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. The print books at the Health Library (Royal Stoke) and the Health Library at County, and more e-books can now be found in the Hub.   What does it mean? When you carry out a search in the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub, print books and e-books from our library catalogue LibrarySearch will be included in the results; along with the items from our other NHS resources.   If you wish to narrow the results down to just the items from our library catalogue   – click on the ‘Library catalogue only’ limiter on the left hand side of the screen.   This is also the best option to use if you want to restrict your results to view the print stock from both health libraries.   If you wish to filter the results to just the print stock from a particular library - scroll down the left hand side of the screen to ‘Library Location’. Click on ‘Library Location’ to open the list of libraries and select the library you wish to

Diabetes Awareness Month - November 2024

  According to the charity Diabetes UK, there are 4.3 million people living with a diagnosis of diabetes in the UK.  The NHS spends approximately £10 billion a year on diabetes – almost 80% of this is spent on treating the complications. Diabetes Awareness Month takes place every November with the aim of highlighting the health challenges diabetes presents and providing help and support to those affected.    RELATED LIBRARY RESOURCES     The Health Libraries, both at the Royal Stoke and County Hospitals, offer numerous resources related to this topic. Bookshelves at the Health Library At the Library Joining the Library allows you to use our facilities, services and resources. Complete our application form and bring it, along with your NHS ID badge, to the counter so that we can set you up as a member. You can use our comfortable study areas and IT suite if you need somewhere quiet to work on your revalidation. Using Resources You can access a wealth of resources, either in print at the library or online via your NHS OpenAthens username . You’ll be able to find good quality, healthcare-specific information to provide evidence for your practice and support your professional reading.
