Literature Searching webinars for NHS staff

The Health Library training team will be delivering literature searching training via webinars, during December.

Introduction to Literature Searching 

 

This is a 1.5 hour course, aimed at NHS staff who want to conduct a literature search using MEDLINE and other major healthcare databases. These are currently available using the HDAS (Healthcare Advanced Databases) system that can be accessed with your NHS Athens account 

 

You will learn how to: 

  • Clarify a search topic 
  • Choose appropriate sources for searching 
  • Devise search strategies 
  • Search for and retrieve relevant information 
  • Sort and Save your searches 

 

Please note that, due to covid-19 restrictions, this session will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams by a one of the Health Library trainers. You do not need to have Teams but you will be sent an invitation to join the training for the date that you select.

Include the DOI in your article request

 You can now add the DOI for an article to the article request (inter-library loan) form . This helps us to locate the article you need more quickly. Screen-shot of the new DOI field on the article request form The DOI of an article is unique identifier. You will usually see it near the reference details of an article.
