50 Resources for Healthcare: 41. Pedro for Physiotherapists

Pedro is a physiotherapy evidence database. Here you will find randomised trials, systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines specific to physiotherapy topics.
It is free to search, no login is needed, though you may not get access to all the full-text articles it contains – check our journal collections to see whether we have the full-text.

The database is updated regularly and you can sign-up to an email list so that you can receive the latest updates in your inbox.

Using Pedro will help you to focus your literature search on selected, good quality, subject specific material.

NEW! Search the Health Library website

We've introduced a new feature to help you to find what you need on our website. Use the Health Library search box to find resources, services and training opportunities. Try it now! You'll find a link to the search box on our home page , in the banner. What does it do? This new feature runs a simple search on google. Your search results are limited to the Health Library website and etutorials. Google decides on the relevancy of your results. This search option is good for looking for named resources (such as databases), library services and training opportunities. What doesn't it do? This search option does not search any of our resources. So, it will not find information for your assignments or work such as articles or books - you'll need a database for that. But you can search for a database! What do you think? We're running this as an experiment. What do you think? Is it useful or not? Send any comments, good or bad, to Cheryl, our eresources librarian, at c.ke

This is an interesting blog where topic-specific literature search strategies are shared. The suggested searches give you Mesh headings as well as possible free-text phrases related to a specific topic the author is investigating. The tag cloud gives you an indication of the type of topics covered. The searches are pretty detailed and comprehensive. It is an interesting place to look if you are struggling to think of your own search terms. screen-shot of a selected pubmed search strategy
