Swine flu

Due to the recent global outbreak of Swine Influenza, EBSCO Publishing and the DynaMed Editors have made DynaMed’s information about Swine Influenza free to health care providers and institutions throughout the world.

The DynaMed topic on Swine Influenza consolidates information from multiple sources for health care providers to stay current with recommendations for monitoring, diagnosing, and treating patients with flu-like illnesses during this outbreak.

DynaMed Editors will continue to monitor information and update this topic as needed throughout this global crisis.

Additional DynaMed clinical evidence summaries can be accessed through the DynaMed link under the Clinical Knowledge Summaries. DynaMed is normally a subscribed resource (American bias), which has been made freely available in the UK only when linking through the Clinical Knowledge Summaries.

Additional evaluated information is being added to the Intute website, please click here to view the latest articles and podcasts.

The Knowledge and Library Hub can be accessed via this link NHS Knowledge and Libraries Hub or by clicking on the Knowledge and Libraries Hub icon on the desktop on a UHNM com...

Nursing final year placements - loaning items

If the next few weeks you are embarking on your final placement before graduating: You are welcome to continue to loan items from the library, but please be aware that normal loan periods will still apply. Items may be requested by another user and recalled. Late return of requested items will still incur fines. Automatic renewals will run as normal, but if you wish to try to avoid having an item potentially due for return at a time when you really cannot come in, you can attempt to renew your books early via you account on Library Search. All items must be returned and any outstanding fines paid before you graduate.
