A number of health library resources can help you to create your own patient information:

BMJ Best Practice - available to all NHS staff, includes patient leaflets on a wide range of conditions and diseases.

Clinical Key - available to UHNM staff, includes editable patient leaflets on a wide range of a conditions and diseases. Easy read and multiple language versions are also available.

 New dates are available to book on our Searching Ovid Medline training course. Searching Ovid Medline Thinking of writing your own research paper but unsure where to begin? This one-hour course will help you develop a robust search strategy which can be transferred into other databases for maximum paper retrieval. Updates to Literature Search Request forms

 The literature search request forms - for both clinical and non-clinical topics - have been updated. You can now request your literature search to be limited by patient group, by age range. selection of age range limits Simply select the age range you are interested in. You can select more than one but leave clear if not applicable. Electives (Nursing) - no change in library loan rules

If you are embarking on an elective in the next few weeks, to ensure you do not incur any fines it is advisable to return your books to the library before starting your placement. Students are welcome to continue to borrow items, but please be aware that normal requirements to renew items, and the possibility that items will be recalled or fines incurred for late return/renewal, will still apply.
