BMJ Best Practice

This is an essential evidence-based, clinical decision support tool to help you make confident decisions. It is available to all NHS OpenAthens users. You can search for a wide range of conditions, and access overviews, theory, diagnosis, treatment and management as well as calculators, patient leaflets and videos.

Clinical Key

You can use this specialist clinical search engine to quickly find clinical overviews, calculators and guidelines to support your clinical decisions. Complete more in-depth searching for full-text articles, topic summaries, videos and ebooks. Clinical Key is available to UHNM staff via OpenAthens.

Clinical Knowledge Summaries

NHS staff working in primary care can browse the easy-to-read, evidence-based, best practice recommendations for conditions encountered in primary care, by using the Clinical Knowledge Summaries. No login required.

Oxford Handbooks Online Collection

Quick, easy-to-read, evidence-based information on a range of key specialties from the Oxford Handbook collections. All NHS staff can access these online ebooks, using your NHS OpenAthens username.

New look: NHS Knowledge and Library Hub

The NHS Knowledge and Library Hub now has a new look. It is still the place to go to find information, articles, e-books and journals from a range of healthcare specific resources for our NHS customers; and also to find out about print books available at both of our Health Libraries. If you are on a Trust computer the desktop link to the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub will now take you to the new interface. Below is a guide to the new interface. Search page: 1. Log in using your NHS OpenAthens username / password. 2. Enter your search keywords into the search box. You can search for a topic, a journal article, a book or a journal title. Suggested text is presented for popular search terms. You can select these or ignore them and use your own keywords. 3. Advanced search options are available. You can combine search terms here. 4.
