Student Accounts Explained

During your time at Keele and while working on NHS placements, students with the School of Nursing and Midwifery and Medical School will use a number of different logins and accounts. Here is a short explanation of what they are:

Your Keele computer username and password is given to you by Keele IT. It is a single login that gives you access to the Keele network as well as online library resources. You should contact Keele IT if you have problems with this account. If you have problems accessing online resources please contact the campus library.

NHS / HE OpenAthens Account

Your NHS / HE OpenAthens account is given to you in your 1st or 2nd year of study. It starts nhsac…This login will give you access to core NHS-subscribed online resources. NHS / HE accounts are managed by Campus Library and you should contact Steve Parton or Paul Johnson if you have problems with this account.

NHS IT Account

You may be given an NHS network account during your placement. This will be given to you by the IT team for the Trust you are on placement with. This allows you to log on to the NHS network, for example to access the Trust Intranet or local systems. It is not a logon for NHS-subscribed online resources. Contact your Trust team if you have problems with this account.
