Students on Electives or placement (Medicine, Nursing or Midwifery) - no change to library loan rules

If you are embarking on an elective or placement during April or in May / June:
You are welcome to continue to loan items from the library, but please be aware that normal loan periods will still apply.
Items may be requested by another user and thus need to be returned. Late return of requested items will still incur fines.

Automatic renewals will run as normal, but if you wish to try to avoid having an item potentially due for return at a time when you really cannot come in, you can attempt to renew your books early via your account on Library Search.

We’ve added even more resources to the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. The print books at the Health Library (Royal Stoke) and the Health Library at County, and more e-books can now be found in the Hub.   What does it mean? When you carry out a search in the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub, print books and e-books from our library catalogue LibrarySearch will be included in the results; along with the items from our other NHS resources.   If you wish to narrow the results down to just the items from our library catalogue   – click on the ‘Library catalogue only’ limiter on the left hand side of the screen.   This is also the best option to use if you want to restrict your results to view the print stock from both health libraries.   If you wish to filter the results to just the print stock from a particular library - scroll down the left hand side of the screen to ‘Library Location’. Diabetes Awareness Month - November 2024

  According to the charity Diabetes UK, there are 4.3 million people living with a diagnosis of diabetes in the UK.  The NHS spends approximately £10 billion a year on diabetes – almost 80% of this is spent on treating the complications. Diabetes Awareness Month takes place every November with the aim of highlighting the health challenges diabetes presents and providing help and support to those affected.    RELATED LIBRARY RESOURCES     The Health Libraries, both at the Royal Stoke and County Hospitals, offer numerous resources related to this topic.
