If you’re not sure what resources you have access to or how to find the best information quickly, then check out our training programme to find out how we can help you.

We have a range of courses where you can learn about evidence-based, healthcare-specific resources and develop the skills to find and appraise the information you find.

Training can be delivered at the Health Library or in your department; in group sessions or via a one-to-one personalised service.

  • 10 Minute Presentation - we'll visit you at work to deliver a bite-size bit of information about the Health Library and our resources
  • Health Library Induction Plus - a brief overview of the best information online and a reminder of the resources available via the Health Library
  • Literature Searching Healthcare Databases - learn how to develop a search strategy and use NHS HDAS databases to search for literature
  • Evidence-Based Databases - learn about a range of evidence-based resources
  • Critical Appraisal for Absolute Beginners: Qualitative Research - an introduction to critical appraisal, providing you with the basic skills for assessing the quality of the article you are reading
  • Critical Appraisal for Absolute Beginners: Randomised Controlled Trials - an introduction to critical appraisal to help you to develop the skills to assess the quality of an article; focusing on a randomised controlled trial (RCT)

IBS Awareness Month - April 2024
