From the Campus Library: At the recent Student Experience event in the Students Union, one of the suggestions was that we should make available some way for library users to suggest books for purchase. This is now available under test. It is accessible from the ‘My Library’ drop-down menu on most catalogue screens, or from here . Please note that to avoid being spammed by booksellers it is controlled by the same authentication as that used when you come to renew loans or reserve items. Purchase suggestions will be checked regularly. Provided that we have your email address you will be notified whether we are progressing with purchase or not: all purchases have to be related to academic requirements and funding is limited, so we can’t buy all the books that we would like to. Please let us know what you think of this new facility. Health Library users can also make stock suggestions using the form available in the library.

NHS Evidence are reporting that there are currently ongoing errors when using the Healthcare Databases Advanced Search (HDAS) databases. This includes problems with alerts and saving results. You can report any problems directly via their Contact Us form . Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

NHS Evidence are currently reporting that the HDAS facility is experiencing problems with searches run against the Embase database. This will affect NHS Athens users running literature searches against this database. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

NHS users can now access the BNF and BNF for Children online via Medicines Complete . Follow the Athens links to login with your NHS Athens username and password. You can access all our NHS resources via the Health Information Resources page.

Wiley are carrying out site maintenance on Saturday 24th March. This may affect access to ejournals delivered via the Wiley Online Library. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

The current awareness page for Mental Health has been updated to include the ejournal titles: Current Opinion in Psychiatry Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Pyschiatry Please note that many of the titles included in this update are only available to NHS Athens users working for North Staffs Combined Healthcare.

The Cancer (NHS journals) current awareness page has been updated to include the ejournal "British Journal of Cancer". You can sign-up to get the latest headlines and published research via email.

The Anaesthetics current awareness page has been updated to include the new ejournal titles: Anesthesiology Anesthesia and Analgesia You can sign-up to get the latest headlines and published research sent via email.

In order to enhance security at the Health Library in the light of current changes on the hospital site, we will be implementing access control from 5:30 p.m. to closing time, and at weekends. This will start at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday 15th March. From this time you will need either: a current valid Keele card, or: an NHS Library membership card with the number starting 5081 The card should be presented to the proximity reader inside the north lobby of the CEC outside the Library’s secondary entrance. This will unlock the Library door. Please ensure that it locks securely behind you. Access control will operate between the following hours: Mon – Thu    5:30 p.m. – 9:45 p.m. Fri               5:30 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. Sat              10:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Sun             1:00 p.m. – 5 p.m. ...
