Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Awareness Month takes place every year in August to raise awareness of SMA, to support individuals and families and to advocate for access to timely diagnosis and treatment. This year, the aim is to highlight the importance of adding SMA to the Newborn Screening blood spot test in the UK.
