What did you learn during Health Information Week? Here’s a quick summary…

 We joined Health Information Week 2023 (3rd to 9th July) to let you know more about the resources you can use. Read our blog posts to develop your skills and find great resources to provide good quality patient education information.

Did you know 53.4% of people in Stoke on Trent struggle to understand health information? That number rises to 72.3% of people who struggle to understand health information when it includes numbers. [source: http://healthliteracy.geodata.uk/ 2023]

Looking on the Internet for resources?

You can search the Internet for resources to support patients – charities, professional royal colleges and patient support groups are good sources to check. Terminated Online Journal Titles

This year we have ended our subscriptions to the following online journals for NHS users: American Journal of Clinical Nutrition Journal of Medical Screening Physiological Measurement Radiology Unfortunately we do not retain perpetual access to previously subscribed content, as such these titles have been removed from the A-Z journals list. Journal subscriptions to be terminated are identified by a number of factors including usage and cost. If you have any concerns about our NHS journal coverage please contact the NHS Lead Librarian . All our available titles can be accessed via the NHS A-Z Journals list – login using your Athens username and password to view the full list.
