New Scanning Equipment

The method for scanning your documents has now changed.

Please now use the multi-functional devices (MFDs) in the IT suite – basically the large printers – to scan items. Complete instructions are available by the machines. The machine will now scan your item and email it to you. If you are a Keele user it will be emailed automatically to your Keele email address. If you are an NHS user you will need to type in the email address that you want the item to be sent to.

The flatbed scanner has been removed.

Discover even more resources in the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub!

We’ve added even more resources to the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. The print books at the Health Library (Royal Stoke) and the Health Library at County, and more e-books can now be found in the Hub. What does it mean? When you carry out a search in the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub, print books and e-books from our library catalogue LibrarySearch will be included in the results; along with the items from our other NHS resources. If you wish to narrow the results down to just the items from our library catalogue – click on the ‘Library catalogue only’ limiter on the left hand side of the screen. This is also the best option to use if you want to restrict your results to view the print stock from both health libraries. If you wish to filter the results to just the print stock from a particular library - scroll down the left hand side of the screen to ‘Library Location’. Click on ‘Library Location’ to open the list of libraries and select the library you wish to

Diabetes Awareness Week

14 th June – 20 th June 2015 By 2035 it is estimated that the number of people living with diabetes will rise to 535 million. Over the last two years it has led to the deaths of between 1.5 and 5.1 million people world-wide. Diabetes UK is the UK’s leading diabetes charity and aims to care for, connect with and campaign on behalf of all people affected by and at risk of diabetes, reaching people with diabetes in local communities across the UK. This year Diabetes Awareness Week falls between the 14 th and 20 th June, its goal is to raise awareness of the disease among the population of the UK in order to prevent its increase. A is for Access

You can find a wealth of information from the Health Library. But how do you get access? Access the Health Library - come along to the health Library to access our book collection and use the library facilities. You’ll need to swipe with your Library card to enter , borrow books and use the print/photocopy/scanning facilities . Access NHS online resources - you need an NHS OpenAthens username and password to log in to the plethora of online resources , especially selected for NHS users. It’s free to register, just complete the online form. Find out more from our OpenAthens web page . Access Keele online resources - Keele staff and students can access the Keele University subscribed resources using your Keele login details.
