All our NHS users can access journals online via the NHS Journals A-Z list.

The collection that you have access to will vary depending on your NHS organisation. All users can access the NHS Core Content collection. You may be able to access more titles if we have purchased them for you.

To check which journals you can access:

Go to the Health Library Journals page
Click the link NHS Journals (login now)
Log in with your NHS Athens username
Search for the journal title you are looking for

Diabetes Awareness Month - November 2024

According to the charity Diabetes UK, there are 4.3 million people living with a diagnosis of diabetes in the UK. The NHS spends approximately £10 billion a year on diabetes – almost 80% of this is spent on treating the complications. Diabetes Awareness Month takes place every November with the aim of highlighting the health challenges diabetes presents and providing help and support to those affected. RELATED LIBRARY RESOURCES   The Health Libraries, both at the Royal Stoke and County Hospitals, offer numerous resources related to this topic. NEW! Search the Health Library website

We've introduced a new feature to help you to find what you need on our website. Use the Health Library search box to find resources, services and training opportunities. Try it now! You'll find a link to the search box on our home page , in the banner. What does it do? This new feature runs a simple search on google. Your search results are limited to the Health Library website and etutorials. Google decides on the relevancy of your results. This search option is good for looking for named resources (such as databases), library services and training opportunities. What doesn't it do? This search option does not search any of our resources. So, it will not find information for your assignments or work such as articles or books - you'll need a database for that.
