The Health Library interactive map has been updated and improved. You can now find a number of short videos that have been added. These tell you about the main facilities, services and resources that we have here at the Health Library.
You can follow the presentation step by step or use the zoom and drag functions to explore the library.

World Diabetes Day

14th November 2014 Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas fails to produce insulin or the body has trouble processing the insulin the pancreas does produce.  Whilst the disease can be managed those that suffer from diabetes are at increased risk of developing a number of serious health issues.  It is estimated that the number of people living with diabetes will rise to 535 million. The mission of the International Diabetes Federation is to promote diabetes care, prevention and the development of a cure.  World Diabetes Day is celebrated every year on the 14 th November.  It brings together millions of people across the world in order to promote the core aims of the International Diabetes Federation and raise awareness.
