  The Health Library will be closed on Monday 5 th May for the Bank Holiday. Online resources  will be available as usual.

Do you listen to your patients? Do you get the complete view? Wondered how patients or other people have coped with a condition or diagnosis? What is the impact of disability on a family? We’ve developed  our Patient Voices  collection to give you a different perspective from a patient’s or their family’s point of view. Read patient stories to learn more. Browse through  the Patient Voices collection  online or in the Library. Topics include: mental health dementia grief cancer stroke eating disorders Covid long term conditions parenthood physical disability learning disability and many more.

  Want to improve your communication skills with your patients?  There will be reduced opening hours at the Health Library (Royal Stoke Hospital site) over the Easter holiday weekend. Friday 18th April - Closed Saturday 19th April - 10am to 4pm Sunday 20th April - Closed Monday 21st April - Closed Online resources remain accessible from our website . Alternative library access: The Health Library at County - Stafford Hospital: The library will be self-service for those w ith 24/7 hour access Friday 18 th March   - Monday 21 st April - for members who have already arranged access. To arrange 24/7 access please email library@uhnm.nhs.uk , well in advance before 18 th April. Staffed library service will resume Tuesday 22 nd  April.

Do you need to find the full-text of an article? Do you want to view the latest issue of a journal title? You can view NHS-based journal titles using Browzine. Browzine is an online resource which allows you to search for journal titles and check the access options for journal articles. You may be able to: Access full-text via a PDF download Link to the full-text online Request a copy from the Health Library Some content presented will be freely available as open access content; some will be subscribed content and you will need to log in using your NHS OpenAthens username. Some content will not be available and you can submit an article request to the library.
