Breast Cancer Awareness Month 1st - 31st October 2021

 Around 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women the UK with one woman diagnosed every 10 minutes.

Breast cancer is cancer that starts in the breast tissue. The treatment each patient requires depends on the type of breast cancer they have as well as their general health. Treatments include surgery, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and radiotherapy.

 The Health Library will have reduced opening hours over the Christmas holidays : December 2024 Monday 23rd to Tuesday 24th December - 9 am - 4 pm Wednesday 25th to Thursday 26th December - Closed Friday 27th December - 9 am - 4 pm Saturday 28th to Sunday 29th December - Closed Monday 30th to Tuesday 31st December - 9 am - 4 pm January 2025 Wednesday 1st January - Closed Normal opening times will resume on Thursday 2nd January at 8.30 am.
