New resource: Oxford Medicine Online (for all NHS staff)

 NHS / HEE have purchased a selection of online ebook titles from the Oxford Medicine Online collection. There are over 130 titles all together, including:

  • Emergencies in... series
  • Oxford Handbooks in Nursing
  • Oxford Medical Handbooks
  • Oxford Textbooks in... series
  • Oxford Textbook of Medicine
These are authoritative texts which include key information, guidance and recommendations on a wide range of specialties. Now available online so you don't have to wait in line for a print version.

All these titles are available to NHS staff via your NHS OpenAthens username. Go to the Oxford Medicine Online collection, use the institution log in option, select institution "NHS in England" and enter your NHS OpenAthens login details.

You can view all the books in the collection by choosing the option "Browse all titles in your subscription" from the left-hand panel.

You'll find a link to the collection along with instructions on our ebooks page.

Please note that these titles are not available to healthcare students using NHS / HEI openathens accounts.

Reminder: Health Library open for reduced hours over the Christmas holidays 2025

  The Health Library will have reduced opening hours over the Christmas holidays. Wednesday 24th December - Open 9am-4pm Thursday 25th- Sunday 28th December -  Closed Monday 29th- Wednesday 31st December - Open 9am-4pm Thursday 1st January -  Closed Friday 2nd January - Open 9am-4pm Normal opening times resume Saturday 3rd January. Please check our website for  current opening hours . Online resources are available via  the Health Library website .
