If you are a researcher whether at Keele University or within the NHS organisations that we support, then the Health Library is here to help you.

You can:

  • Join the library if you work for our NHS organisations
  • Use facilities, services and resources at the Health Library
  • Access online resources, according to your membership type
  • Use our online etutorials to start developing your information skills
  • Book on our training courses for literature search training and support using our main resources

Christmas opening hours at the Health Library 2024

  The Health Library will have reduced opening hours over the Christmas holidays : December 2024 Monday 23rd to Tuesday 24th December - 9 am - 4 pm   Wednesday 25th to Thursday 26th December -  Closed Friday 27th December - 9am to 4pm Saturday 28th to Sunday 29th December -  Closed Monday 30th to Tuesday 31st December - 9 am - 4 pm   January 2025 Wednesday 1st January -  Closed Normal library opening times will resume Thursday 2nd January at 8.30 am. Online resources are available via  the Health Library website .

Replacement of NHS Library Cards

All Health Library cards with bar code number beginning 508 need to be replaced. Keele University have updated a number of systems and you will need to replace your library card in order to continue using them. These include: Door access at weekends and in the evenings – the swipe access system on the side-entrance has been updated and you will need a new library card to be able to use it Photocopies and Keele printers – you will need a new card to use the photocopiers and Keele printers and pay for services Next time you visit the library please pop along to the counter to request a library card replacement.

End waiting, change lives campaign

A new target has been set to reduce patient waiting times to a maximum of 18 weeks by December 2008. To help achieve this, the End Waiting, Change Lives website provides a 5 step guide on how to improve waiting times. The site contains information on waiting time statistics, case studies from across England and information for patients. Additional resources can be found at the No Delay Achiever website which offers a 7 step guide to improving patient experience.
