eJournal Help for NHS Users

We use a number of different platforms to provide you with access to our ejournal collection – such as Elsevier ScienceDirect and Wiley Online Library. It can sometimes be a bit confusing working your way around the different interfaces to find your articles and some of them have a number of strange quirks. To try to help you out we have created some online guides; here you can learn:

Early closing time for Wednesday 08/01/2025

The Health Library at the CEC will be closing earlier than usual tomorrow evening, at 6:00 PM (Wednesday, 8th January). This is a change from our regular closing time of 8:00 PM. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you currently have a 1-Day Loan Laptop, a member of the Library team will contact you individually. Decembeard 2024 - Bowel Cancer awareness

  “Grow a beard  for bowel cancer” Every December the charity, Bowel Cancer UK, asks people to ditch the razors and grow or style a beard to support everyone affected by bowel cancer.   According to their website, bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK, with around 44,000 people diagnosed every year.
