Evidence Updates from NHS Evidence

NHS Evidence recently published the following Evidence Updates : Improving outcomes in head and neck cancers (May 2012) focuses on a summary of selected new evidence relevant to NICE cancer services guidance ‘Improving outcomes in head and neck cancers’ (2004). Familial breast cancer (May 2012) focuses on a summary of selected new evidence relevant to NICE clinical guideline 41 ‘The classification and care of women at risk of familial breast cancer in primary, secondary and tertiary care’ (2006). Sedation in children and young people (May 2012) focuses on a summary of selected new evidence relevant to NICE clinical guideline 112 ‘Sedation for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in children and young people’ (2010). Constipation in children and young people (June 2012) focuses on a summary of selected new evidence relevant to NICE clinical guideline 99 ‘Diagnosis and management of idiopathic childhood constipation in primary and secondary care’ (2010).

Map of Medicine Upgrades

Map of Medicine has been upgraded to include a number of new features: New ways of searching for pathways including A-Z and specialty searching Bookmarking your favourite content Professional development certificates Example of new search tools You can use Map of Medicine to search for evidence-based care pathways for a wide range of conditions and diseases. You can now get up-to-date, reliable information on policy, guidelines and the latest systematic reviews from a series of blogs published by Minervation Ltd. Subjects covered include: Mental Health   Musculoskeletal Diseases   Dental Health   Diabetes   Learning Disabilities   Lifestyle   These blogs have been added to our current awareness service where appropriate. You can use these resources to keep an eye on the latest significant releases of research or to use as discussion items during journal clubs.

Current Awareness page colour scheme

The template that we use for our Current Awareness Service appears to have changed, reducing the visibility of the colour scheme that we use. I have had to change the colour scheme to something which will allow me to use colour-coding in the feed headings.
